Serial Number Analysis 4- or 5-digit format: This format was used by Gibson in the early 1960s after the discontinuation of the "A-prefix" system. Production range: Serial numbers between 100 and 42440 are officially dated 1961 according to the records of the time.

A super lightweight instrument, the guitar was repainted in the 1980s after a crack in the neck at the body joint was repaired. It also received new Tim Shaw Pat Nr. Gibson humbuckers, also in the 1980s. The tremolo was also replaced with an ebony block vibrato. Most recently, it also received a new nut. It is perfectly playable with the sound one expects from a vintage sixties SG.
 
Vintage guitars can be opened in front of the customer. 
The buyer receives what they have played and seen visually; the customer may be accompanied by a luthier or other professional. 
No certificate is issued for the instrument.
