Fender Telecaster
Year 1966 1969 vintage
This vintage Fender Telecaster is quite unique, offering very easy access to the upper frets for soloing; a previous owner had converted it for a left-handed player in the 1960s before converting it back to a right-handed configuration—a feature that is appreciated for solos. It sounds excellent, thanks to the combination of a vintage Gibson mini-humbucker and a vintage Fender bridge pickup.
This wonderful vintage Fender has a long history: its 1966 body was converted for left-handed use in the late 1960s. This resulted in an irreversible modification to the body shape—one that actually benefits right-handed playing. The pickup cavities were also routed out to accommodate the electronics, necessitating the subsequent installation of a custom-made pickguard. What makes this guitar exceptional is its vintage early-70s Gibson mini-humbucker; it delivers Gibson-style power in the neck position while retaining the classic Fender sound at the bridge, creating a remarkably powerful combination.
